CHURCHCOUNCIL MINUTES
February 6, 2002
1. CampusPlanning Committee
The committee is split into the fund-raisingsub-committee and the building sub-committee. <*dv_2*>Both will be at the church on February 18th.
Lutheran Stewardship Counselors tentatively havescheduled fund-raising contacts to be made in April and May.
<*dv_0*>The contract for the architects is pending adetermination by the congregation of a general building plan. <*dv_1*>Services will be provided on an hourlyrate until that time.
The congregation will want to know why the old schoolis being torn down, rather than refurbished/rebuilt, if that is thedecision. Pastor Maurer and thechairman responded that this issue is one of the first to be addressed by thearchitects. <*dv_4*>General plans beingconsidered at this early date are; 1) build on the north side of the school, use the old structure until the new one is ready; 2) build on the south side, provide temporary class space, and provide for reduced parking. Either plan will have to address themingling of utilities between the buildings, and the subsequent need toreconstruct some existing plant, if and when the old structure israzed.
2. Building Fund accounting
<*dv_3*>Treasurer Craig Boche recommended a separatechecking account be established to handle the building fund revenue and theconstruction expenditures. Thefund would have the same signatories as existing church accounts; moved, secondedand passed unanimously.
