<*dv_0*>A. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Bob Lindsteadt at8:00 p.m.
B. Those in attendance were: Bob Lindsteadt, Gary Lund, CharlesGebhardt, Duane Waltke, John Pfeil, Don Weber, Craig Boche, JohnDavis, Gary Krueger, Norm Hansen, Mark Johnson, Pastor Heinsen, andPastor Leavitt.
<*dv_2*>C. Pastor Heinsen had the opening prayer.
D. The minutes from the February 5, 2003 Council Meeting wereapproved.
E. Item number 2 was added to the agenda.
F. Items of Business:
1. Budget Preparation for May Council Meeting. BobLindsteadt reminded board chairmen to have their respective boardsstart putting together budget numbers for the May council meeting.
2. Future Campus Plans. There was much discussion on which way toproceed with the school and campus plans for the future after thenext addition is completed. Wants, property purchases, future siteplans, were all discussed. The forming of a new Campus PlanningCommittee was requested to provide some direction, in reasonablestages, for future needs and growth. Discussion will continue.
G. Reports:
1. Treasurer's Report: - Craig Boche summarized the financial reports which now includes the remaining roof repair. Hestated his hope for some positive months in the future to preventthe liabilities >from reaching it maximum allowable limit. arequest was made to continue advertising and reporting on theThrivent Matching Funds program which has had significant successand has outstanding potential. The motion was made and seconded to roll over the $166.01 in the Lawn Mower special fund account into theGeneral Fund Account - Carried
2. Boards: Written Reports - Board of Education, Board ofNurture, Board of Trustees. Highlites of the Board of Education included the issuing of a Call to Charles Zehendner to teach 4thgrade. The Trustees mentioned that they are proceeding with aliability and property insurance purchase during the construction ofthe school addition. Elders had nothing to report.
3. Principal's Report: Mr. Weber highlited many coming events including National Lutheran Schools Week, the Musical, work days,magazine sales, retirement celebrations for Mrs. Davis and Mr.Gansebom, and asbestos reinspection. He reported that theKindergarten registration is going well and after the first day theyhad 34 signed up.
4. Pastors Reports:
a. Pastor Heinsen reported that the Christ CareCommittee is up and running and seems to be doing well. He isgetting ready for the confirmation of the 46 confirmands. Theretreat is in place and a servant event to Minnesota is planned. Thehigh school youth will start Passion Play rehearsals soon. They continue soup suppers, dinners, and are looking forward to the summerservant events as well.
b. Pastor Leavitt reported that he was handling the majority ofthe calls on the inactives list. He has made about 30 personalvisits on peoples homes. He is learning the reasons for theirinactivity. He also shared a couple of success stories.
c. Pastor Heinsen reported that Pastor Fale is grateful for theencouragement he has been receiving in his recovery, and isgradually getting back into his work schedule.
H. Pastor Leavitt closed the meeting with prayer at 8:45 p.m.
