<*dv_4*>This week we learned that praise means to say good things about someone. We talked about ways we can praise God. We praised God with singing, praying, clapping, and ringing bells. We will have the opportunity to praise God in church on Sunday, December 5 th at the 8:00 a.m. service. We have been practicing two songs to sing in church. We talked about the first Thanksgiving this week in school. We discussed the friendship between the pilgrims and Native Americans. We also made pilgrim hats and collars to wear for our Thanksgiving feast which will be held on Tuesday. We will make our own corn muffins and butter. We will also assemble our own fruit, meat and cheese kabobs. Speaking of our feast, thank you to all of you that signed up to bring donations for our Thanksgiving feast. Please bring the items to school on Monday morning. Christ Lutheran School collects nonperishables for the Norfolk Rescue Mission during the month of November. The preschool classes are collecting paper goods for this program. Please send your donation of paper goods (Kleenex, toilet paper, paper towels, etc.) to the classroom before Thanksgiving so that all of our items may be delivered the day before Thanksgiving. In case some of you are doing your Christmas shopping early, you might want to start thinking about preschool's gift exchange. For the exchange, please buy one gift for each child in the class. Please spend 30 - 50 cents on each gift. Each gift should be the same or similar (i.e. all stickers, all crayons, all markers). The gifts should not be wrapped individually. Take one large box or bag and put all the gifts in it. If possible, each individual gift should have a tag on it that only says, "From (your child's name)." Do not indicate who each gift is for with a name. Wrap the box. Your child will unwrap it and hand out the presents to each of his/her classmates. Pease avoid candy gifts since children get plenty of sweets at this time of the year. Here are some ideas from previous years: 3 crayons, 2 markers, party favors, barrettes, homemade ornaments, and playdoh. You do not need to get "girl" gifts and "boy" gifts but sometimes people ask for this information: We have 9 girls and 7 boys for a total of 16 children. If you have any questions please call or catch me before or after school. | Thank you to Felipe Martinez's family for our snacks this week.
